Slugs and Snails

They feed at night and hide in poorly tensioned mesh, under pots, and in the grass at the edge.

1 min read

If you wake up to lace-like lettuces and a silver trail, it's not a fungus. It's the nocturnal turn of mollusks.

Identification

Irregular holes, trails, nests under boards and in long grass. They attack newly sprouted seedlings.

Control

Nocturnal hunting, remove shelters, well-tensioned mesh (less grass-hide), beer or traps if you prefer. Protect seedlings. Water in the morning, not at dusk.

What we recommend at Control Garden

Weed mesh in planters and tall seedbeds. Less hiding, fewer banquets.
