Strawberry Cultivation
Strawberries need drainage, morning sun, and fruits should not rest on wet soil.
In containers, strawberries thrive if you don't drown them. Fruits resting on wet soil rot; a mulch or cut mesh lifts them up.
Container
Deep containers or pots 5-11 L. Coco with perlite. Renew plants every 2-3 years; stolons are offspring, not an infinite miracle.
Watering and Fruit
Regular, at the base. Avoid wetting the fruit. Mesh or straw under the clusters. Sun for 6 hours; in August, shade from 3 PM if they overheat.
Problems
Gray rot, snails, birds. Aphids in spring. Remove old leaves from the center.
What We Recommend at Control Garden
Pots 5-11 L, coco, and a cut of weed control mesh in the container to prevent fruits from resting in the mud.
