Plant problems

Spots on Bell Peppers

Not every spot is downy mildew. Sunscald is white-beige on the side facing west.

1 min read

If you strip the bell pepper like a tomato, the fruit will burn. If there are thrips, the spot is corky. If there is fungus, there is usually a sick leaf.

Distinguishing

Sun: dry area on the exposed side. Thrips: roughness. Rot: soft and spreading.

Action

Do not strip more leaves, use a stake to shade the fruit with its own leaf, check flowers for thrips, water at the base.

What we recommend at Control Garden

Stake and plant with leaves. The bell pepper protects itself if you do not peel it.
