How to Eliminate Thrips

Tap the flower over paper. If threads run, act on the flowers, not just the leaves.

Thrips live in the flower. A treatment that doesn't wet the corolla is just theater.

Protocol

At sunset, use soap with flower wetting (without bathing pollinators at noon), blue traps, remove flowering weeds near the pot, repeat.

If the pepper shows rings and dwarfism, isolate it. Thrips are a vector. Prevention is getting there first.

Agricultural soap and watch in June. Five checked flowers are worth more than a “total” product.

Yellow or Blue Traps?

Blue traps usually work better for thrips; yellow for whiteflies. You can use both for monitoring.

Indoors?

Yes, they can enter in bouquets. Check new plants.
