Green Water in the Pool and pH?

Adjust pH, filter, and then disinfect. Chlorine bucket at pH 8.2 is a waste.

Green is not a color: it's algae or precipitates. Without a strip, you don't know if the chlorine is working.

Order

Measure pH and chlorine. Lower pH to 7.2-7.6. Clean the filter. Then shock if needed. Brush the walls. Recirculate. Measure again.

7 in 1 strips and pH reducer. The pH− bag on time saves three useless buckets of chlorine.

Can I swim?

Not in a green glass without parameters. It irritates and doesn't disinfect well.

Flocculant first?

With crazy pH, the flocculant also fails. pH first.

Rain?

Measure the next day. It usually shifts pH and dilutes chlorine.

Are 3 in 1 strips enough?

For day-to-day yes. If the green persists, use 7 in 1 (cyanuric).

Granulated or liquid?

Both correct. Liquid is convenient in large pools.

Aquarium?

Another world. Don't use pool pH in the fish tank.
