Can expired pool strips be used?
An old or wet strip can lead to inaccurate pH readings. Date and seal matter.
The reagents in the strip are not eternal. An opened bottle left in the sun ages in weeks.
What to do
Seal immediately, keep dry, not in the skimmer. If the color doesn’t match anything on the chart, discard them. A pack of 30 units is cheap compared to a green glass.
What we recommend at Control Garden
New 3-in-1 or 7-in-1 strips each season if the bottle suffered moisture. Measure, don’t guess.
