Spinach Cultivation
Spinach hates heat. Sow it when the tomato is done or hasn't arrived yet.
Cool season crop. In June, it bolts and becomes bitter. In October, with watering, it produces abundant leaves.
Sowing
Direct or in trays. Pot size 5-7 L. Succession planting. Do not cover with more than 3 cm of soil.
Watering
Consistent. Drought causes it to flower. Use well-draining substrate: the roots are shallow and rot in standing water.
Pests
Aphids, leaf miners, snails. Harvest outer leaves.
What we recommend at Control Garden
Seed trays and small pots. Don't waste a 180 cm stake on spinach: use it for tomatoes instead.
