Cucumber Cultivation
Cucumbers climb and drink. Without structure and regular water, they become bitter and get powdery mildew.
A cucumber on the ground gets stained and twisted. Use a trellis or stakes of 180 cm and harvest straight.
Structure
25 L pot or soil. Guide the tendrils. Bamboo 180 cm or a mesh between two stakes works. Soft tying: the stem is brittle.
Water and Bitterness
Constant watering. Bitterness is due to water stress or variety. Don't let fruits grow too large: the plant gives up.
Leaves
Powdery mildew on the underside if there is no air. Water at the base. Aphids on shoots: use potassium soap soon.
