Flower Drop in Tomatoes
Flowers on the ground without fruit: climate stress or overly green plant.
A tomato that drops its flower is not sterile: it is choosing to survive. Nights at 8 °C or afternoons at 38 °C cause this. Also, too much nitrogen from grass.
Causes
Temperature, drought, waterlogging, excessive nitrogen, no wind for pollination.
What to Do
Shake the plant at noon, ensure consistent watering, reduce nitrogen, provide support, and ensure airflow. During heatwaves, provide shade at noon.
