Zucchini Cultivation
A zucchini plant feeds a family. It also gets powdery mildew if watered from above.
The zucchini is a powerhouse: it consumes water, absorbs sunlight, and produces more if you don't let it grow oversized fruits. In a pot, it needs 25 L and a spacious corner.
Space and Soil
One plant per large pot or 1 m² in soil. Rich, well-draining substrate. A short stake won't support it; at most, it will hold up a stem that lies down.
Watering and Powdery Mildew
Water at the base in the morning. The white underside with powder is powdery mildew: air, not nighttime foliar watering. Harvest when 15-20 cm: if you wait for the “woody zucchini,” the plant will stop.
Flowers
Male and female. If there are no pollinators, hand-pollinate with a brush in the late morning.
What We Recommend at Control Garden
25 L pot, coco-perlite substrate, and space. Zucchini is not a crop for narrow balconies.
