FAQ

Should I leave steel stakes outside in winter?

Coated steel can stay outside. Clean it. Bamboo rots at ground level.

1 min read

Storing is not mandatory if the steel is in good condition. It is mandatory not to leave a rotten bamboo stuck in the ground as if it were eternal.

What to do

Remove, brush off soil, store dry if possible. PVC withstands rain. Do not leave wet raffia stuck all winter: it becomes a nest.

What we recommend at Control Garden

Packs of steel 10 and 30 units for multiple seasons. Bamboo, large packs and rotation: the base is sacrificed.

FAQs

Rust?
The coating delays it. If the tip is bare, that tip in rotten ground accelerates it. Check.
In the pot all year?
Yes, if there is an olive or perennial. For tomatoes, remove when pulling out the plant.
90 cm in winter?
Useful for low herbs. Tomatoes will need 180 in March: do not throw away the long ones.
Do they need disinfecting?
Water and dry. If there was a strong disease, be more rigorous; do not stick them in the seedbed dirty.
Bean tipi?
Disassemble it: the wet knot rots the bamboo above.
Weight of steel?
In a windy balcony, it's an advantage: it won't fly away.
